Ruhija Gorilla Friends Resort Campsite (RGFRC) is a community-initiated project started in July 2008 by the people of Kitojo parish in Kabale District, South Western Uganda. The project aims to enhance local community incomes through sustainable gorilla tourism by offering affordable accommodation to tourists visiting the area.

The resort is staffed by a dedicated team of men and women who strive to ensure that guests have a memorable experience. Over the past decade, Ruhija Gorilla Friends has hosted visitors from around the globe, consistently working to provide excellent service.

Located in Ruhija Village, adjacent to the eastern edge of Bwindi Impenetrable National Park, the resort is ideally situated for tourists, especially those interested in tracking the park’s habituated mountain gorilla families: Bitukura, Oruzogo, and Kyaguriro.

The campsite is approximately 52 kilometers from Kabale Municipality, with public transport available from Kabale to Ruhija. A four-wheel-drive vehicle is recommended during the rainy season due to challenging road conditions.
