Nkuringo Bwindi Gorilla Lodge is a safari lodge situated at an elevation of 2161 meters (7,087 feet) on Nteko Ridge in southwestern Uganda, offering stunning views of the renowned Bwindi Impenetrable Forest National Park. Perched atop the ridge, the lodge overlooks the picturesque Kashasha River Valley and the forested hill of ‘Nkuringo,’ with the dramatic backdrop of the Virunga Mountains in the distance.

Location and Gorilla Trekking

The lodge provides prime access to the Nkuringo section of the forest, home to four Mountain Gorilla families. It serves as an ideal starting point for the unforgettable gorilla trekking experience. Guests can enjoy panoramic views extending across the rugged Rift Valley landscape and the Virunga Mountains peaks, creating a breathtaking setting.

Originally established as Nkuringo Gorilla Camp in 2007, the lodge has evolved into a fully-fledged accommodation facility. It was honored as ‘Uganda’s Leading Safari Lodge’ at the World Travel Awards in 2016, 2017, 2018, and 2019.

Nkuringo Bwindi Gorilla Lodge prides itself on its green credentials. It operates as a carbon-neutral lodge through various sustainable practices, including solar energy utilization and rainwater harvesting.
