Accommodation and Facilities

Construction

The lodge has been built using local materials and a local workforce. The construction features rocks found in and around the site, eucalyptus trees, and thatched roofs made from banana fiber sourced from local farmers.

Main Lodge Building

The main building includes a bar together with a sitting room, a dining room, and a large outdoor veranda viewing platform. It is spacious enough for larger groups while still offering smaller groups privacy in various areas. The front of the lodge is open-ended, providing dramatic views of the Bwindi forest from every corner inside.

Dining

The kitchen, located away from the main lodge for privacy, prepares a variety of 3-course meals, catering to all dietary requirements, including vegetarian options, by experienced Uganda-trained chefs.

Cottages

The lodge comprises 8 en-suite cottages, each hidden in the foliage for privacy. The cottages feature double or twin beds, bathrooms with flushing toilets, and hot and cold running water. Each cottage has a private veranda where guests can enjoy their morning tea or coffee while overlooking the forest canopy.

Power

Electricity is provided by solar power with a backup generator. Hot water is supplied by eco-friendly wood-burning boilers.

Reception and Parking

The main reception area is near the Buhoma road, along with a large secure car park, both situated a good distance from the main lodge buildings to ensure tranquility.
